The Ventura College beach volleyball team has earned the No. 1 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs that begin Tuesday May 2. The Pirates will host No. 8 Long Beach and No. 9 Moorpark at the Ventura Harbor Courts beginning at 10:00 am.
Ventura (19-2) earned the region's top seed winning the Western State Conference and losing one match all season to community college competition. The Pirates are joined by No. 8 Long Beach (14-6) the fourth place team from the South Coast Conference and No. 9 Moorpark (7-9) the third place team from the WSC.
The day's schedule will begin with VC and Moorpark taking the courts at 10:00 am. Moorpark and Long Beach battle at 11:00 am before the Pirates and Vikings will conclude the day at 12:00 pm. The winner of the region will advance to the CCCAA State Team Championships Thursday May 11 at West Valley College in Saratoga.

No. 4 San Diego Mesa (21-2) hosting No. 5 Santa Barbara (18-3) and No. 12 Cypress (10-5)
