Trevor McCarthy and Sophia Godina each earned first team All-American honors for their performances while Erick Tienda and Brianna Torres were named second team All-Americans.
The Ventura College men's and women's track and field teams are sending four athletes to the 3C2A State Championships next week after competition at the Southern California Regionals Friday at Cerritos. Ventura College women's track and field freshman Julianne Caro (Simi Valley) made her heptathlon debut this past Thursday and Friday at Moorpark College. The Simi Valley product showcased her versatility and resilience over two days of competition totaling 2,212 points, qualifying her for the Southern California Regionals April 2-3.
