It has been a long road back for Pirate redshirt freshman Carolyn Ruffino. She had knee surgery in the spring of her senior year of high school, and spent last season as a redshirt. This season, she played competitively for the first time in two seasons.

Pirate freshman Robert Hunt has made an immediate impact for the Ventura College men's basketball team.
