Andrew VanConas is entering his first year as an assistant coach with Ventura College Track & Field with a focus on coaching jumpers. He previously served as Jumps Coach at Pacifica High School, Head Coach for Cross Country and Assistant Head Coach for Track & Field at St Bonaventure High School.
During his years of coaching at Pacifica and St Bonaventure, "Coach VC" coached many league champions, county champions and CIF participants in jumps, sprints, and distance events. In 2016 his athletes won the league championships in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Under his guidance, St. Bonaventure Boys Cross Country team placed seventh at the CIF State Cross Country Meet in 2014.
Coach VC is an eighth-grade Mathematics teacher at Rio Vista Middle School in Oxnard. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University.
Coach VC is a USA Track & Field (USATF) Level II certified coach.
