VC freshmen CJ Daland and Clint Howard each were named first-team All-Western State Conference in men's water polo leading six Pirates on the all-conference list voted upon by conference coaches last month. The two utility players were the team's leading scorers on offense and played an integral role on defense in a season in which Ventura went 20-14, posting the team's first 20-win campaign in a decade.
Sophomore goalie Luis Galvez and freshman attacker Kyle Goodrich earned second team All-WSC honors while freshman utility player Roger Escalante and sophomore utility player Coby Wiegman were named honorable mention all-conference.
The Pirates posted a six game improvement over 2015, and tied for the top seed in the WSC post-season tournament in 2016.
