Pirate starting pitcher Justin Friedman has been named All-Southern California by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association. The transfer sophomore from Pittstown, NJ led Ventura with an overall record of 8-2 in 12 starts, with a 2.15 earned run average. He recorded 67 strikeouts against 28 walks over 79.2 innings of work.
Friedman, who was named first-team All-Western State Conference, posted a 5-0 mark in conference play, averaging over seven innings of work in each of his seven WSC starts for VC.
The transfer from George Washington University signed a scholarship in the fall to continue his baseball and academic careers at the University of San Diego.
