Four additional members of the Pirate baseball team have signed scholarship offers this spring, the VC coaching staff has announced. Right-handed pitcher Dylan Francis (Thousand Oaks HS), left-handed pitcher Kodi Koorndyk (Oxnard HS), second baseman Brendan Griffith (Saugus HS) and outfielder T.J. Durfee all inked offers to continue their academic and athletic careers at the four-year level earlier this month.
Francis, a second-team All-Western State Conference honoree, was 4-0 in conference action and signed with Cal-Poly Pomona. Koorndyk, meanwhile, was 2-1 on the season out of the bullpen, recording 24 strikeouts in 20 innings of work, and will pitch next year at Hawaii Pacific University.
Griffith, a transfer from Clarke College, earned the WSC Gold Glove Award at second base and had a .252 batting average with six doubles. He inked with Rogers State University in Oklahoma. Durfee, a third-year sophomore, finished the year hitting .333 with four doubles and nine RBI, splitting time in left field and as the designated hitter. He signed to play at Culver-Stockton College in Missouri next year.
