The Ventura College beach volleyball team took to the sand at El Camino and was able to pick up a split of their two matches on the day. In the opener VC picked up a 5-0 win over Rio Hondo. They faced off with El Camino in the second match of the day and dropped a 5-0 decision. Paris Dosch and Brittney Mukhar were able to win one match and then picked up a set win in their contest against El Camino.

Ventura picked up their third conference win of the season and fifth overall win on the year by sweeping the match against El Camino. Dosch and Mukhar were straight sets winner as the No. 2 team. While Sarah Veloz and Tori Hiott picked up a three set win at No. 1 by scores of 21-18, 18-21 and 15-5. Sierra Joyner and Cassidy Simental won their match in an injury shortened contest with a 21-14 win in first set and the injury occuring during the second set. Cassandra Lacanilao teamed with Mikayla Spears as the No. 4 team and won a 2-1 contest dropping the first set and rallying back to win sets two and three. Finally, the Pirates No. 5 team of Jessica Gomez and Kierra Joyner followed suit with a three set win, dropping the first set and rallying back to win the final two sets.
El Camino 5 Ventura 0
Ventura was tested to the full match length in three of their first five matches on the day and they were not able to pick up a win in their second match of the day. Mukhar and Dosch as the No. 2 team were the lone team to pick up a set win against El Camino, but dropped their match two sets to one. Hiott and Veloz pushed the No. 1 team from ECC dropping each of their sets by just two points in the loss.
Ventura is now 5-2 overall on the season with both of the Pirates losses on the season have come against the extremely tough El Camino team. In conference the Pirates are 3-1. VC will return home on Friday Apr. 1 for a pair of matches in Western State Conference play. They will first square off with Antelope Valley at 10:00 am and follow that up with a match against Los Angeles Pierce set for a 12:00 pm start time. Both matches will be played at the Ventura Harbor Beach Courts.
