Mike Giles enters his third season directing the Pirates' men's water polo program in 2017. In his two seasons at the helm, VC has put together back-to-back winning records for the first time since 2008 and 2009. In 2016, Ventura posted a 20-14 overall mark, the Pirates' first 20-win campaign since 2006. Giles' overall record at VC is 34-27, 4-4 in regular season Western State Conference play.
