Jeff Ludlow is in his second season assisting with the Pirate football program. A Ventura County native, He grew up in Thousand Oaks and played football at Thousand Oaks High School where he primarily played left tackle for the Lancers. After high school, Jeff served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Oaxaca, Mexico. And attended the University of Utah.
Coach Ludlow graduated from Utah with a degree in Spanish in 2009. He studied law at the Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. where he joined the Men's Rugby club and soon became a starting forward. His coaching career began with Gonzaga Rugby club, as he mentored new rugby recruits learn the game that preceded modern football.
Although he studied a wide variety of subjects as a law student, Coach Ludlow always knew he wanted football to be part of his future. He began to follow coach Mike Leach's career with interest after reading the book Swing Your Sword, in which Leach gives an account of how he went from law student to Division I coach. He worked as an intern in the NCAA Compliance Office at Eastern Washington University in 2010 and later worked as an intern to the Eastern Washington University football program in 2011.
Coach Ludlow graduated from law school in May 2012 and is currently working as a law clerk at Morris, Polich, & Purdy, LLP in Los Angeles, CA. He and his wife Candace were married in 2008 and they have two sons, Thomas and Wallace.
