Mike Giovando enters his second season mentoring the Ventura College quarterbacks. The Arizona native has been coaching high school and community college football for 20 years, most recently teaching football for a new league in India, The Elite Football League of India. Giovando was one of nine American coaches who traveled to India to bring the game to the Asian country.
Coach Giovando was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Scottsdale (AZ) Community College from 2006-2009 and the head coach at Shadow Mountain High School in Paradise Valley, AZ in 2010-2011. He has been training quarterbacks locally and nationally for the past 13 years from the youth level through the professional ranks. He has tutored over 30 players who have played college football at all divisions.
Giovando had four quarterbacks finish as finalists in the Nike Elite 11 and six players earn all-state recognition in his last eight years in Arizona. He has coached quarterbacks who are currently at Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, UNLV, UCLA and Wyoming.
