Ventura College football and head coach Steve Mooshagian are proud to update that an additional six Pirates from the 2016 3-peat Northern Conference champions have inked scholarships or committed to play at four-year schools. Combined with the nine student athletes who signed and/or transferred mid-year in December, 15 Pirates from the 2016 team will be moving on to the four-year level, with additional signings anticipated.
Three of the six spring signees are transferring to NCAA Division I and two are moving on to NCAA Division II schools.
The 15 transfers from the 2016 team helped the Pirates win their third straight Northern Conference crown with an undefeated conference season, marching into the SCFA playoffs and coming within a touchdown of eventual state champion Fullerton.
Coach Mooshagian has also indicated that there should be more transfers as the spring semester comes to a close, and throughout the summer.
With the addition of these six commitments, coach Mooshagian has now helped 140 student athletes move on to the four-year level in his seven years at the helm of the Pirates' ship.
