
Offensive tackle Jake Colman and defensive back Vosean Crumbie have been named first team All-Americans by the JC Athletic Bureau in voting by coaches around the state last month. Additionally, quarterback Jake Luton, center Josh Mantle, wide receiver Jonte Broski and linebacker Darrian McIntyre were voted to the All-California first team for Region III of Southern California.
Colman was a two-year standout, playing left tackle for the Pirates. he has transferred mid year to San Jose State. Crumbie, meanwhile, played his first year in the orange and black in 2016 as both a defensive back and a punt returner.
Luton, who has transferred to Oregon State, Mantle and Broski join Colman on the All-State list while McIntyre joins Crumbie on the defensive side of the All-State honorees.
THe Pirates completed their third consecutive Northern Conference championship in 2016, posting a record of 8-3 for the year, 5-0 in conference play. VC lost its SCFA semifinal to eventual state champion Fullerton by a narrow 48-42 margin in November.
