Ventura College football coach Steve Mooshagian has announced that nine student athletes from the 2014 Northern Conference champion Pirates have transferred to four-year schools at mid-year. This will make them eligible to participate in spring workouts in preparation for the season next fall.
One is transferring to NCAA Division I - Football Championship Series, five to NCAA Division II, two to NAIA Division I, and one to NAIA Division II. These nine helped the Pirates to two straight bowl games and to the 2014 Northern Conference championship.
In the past five years, the Pirates under Coach Mooshagian have matriculated 87 student athletes to the four-year level, with more to come as the spring signing period approaches.
