
Sophomore running back Aaron Stanton has been named the Southern California Football Association Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Year in voting by conference coaches while head coach Steve Mooshagian was named coach of the year. They lead 22 Pirates who earned all-conference nods for the Northern Conference champion Pirates in 2014.
Stanton led four offensive players who earned first-team honors for VC, including sophomore quarterback Marc Evans, sophomore offensive tackle Greg Hughes and freshman offensive guard Pousima Galoia.
Sophomre return specialist Paul Harris, sophomore safety Jalen Oats and sophomore cornerback Isaiah Jackson earned first-team All-Northern Conference nods on defense and special teams.
The conference champions also had six players earn second-team all-conference honors: sophomore defensive end Dylan Boyce, sophomore defensive tackle Tanner Geiger, sophomore linebacker Matt Singleton, sophomore running back Paul Harris, sophomore wide receiver Chris Marshall and freshman offensive tackle Tyson Rising.
Nine VC players earned honorable mention selections: sophomre defensive end Ryan Chavez, sophomore defensive tackle Tyshon Lee, sophomore defensive tackle Benito Moran, sophomore defensive tackle Terrance Togia, freshman linebacker Kyler O'Halloran, sophomore tight end Kurt McCormack, freshman offensive guard Kerry Buckmaster, sophomore center Matt McFadden and freshman kicker Jake Lanski.
Ventura finished the season at 6-5 (5-1), and were crowned the champions of the SCFA Northern Conference for the second time in three seasons. They qualified for the state playoffs for the fourth time in program history and played in their fourth straight bowl game, a first in the Pirates' history.
