For a school-record fourth year in a row, the Pirate football team is going bowling. And for the fourth time in school-history, the second in the past three years, the Pirates are going to the playoffs. The match-ups were announced Sunday, as SoCal No. 4-seed Ventura (6-4) will travel to No. 1 Riverside (9-1) to play in the National Bowl in a Southern California Football Association semifinal contest on Saturday Nov. 22.
Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 6:00 pm at RCC's Arthur N. Wheelock Stadium. The Pirates enter the game as the Northern Conference champions while Riverside won the Central Conference of the SCFA's National Division.
The SCFA's other semifinal will match No. 3 Fullerton (8-2), the Southern Conference champion with No. 2 Mt. San Antonio (8-2) in the Southern California Bowl at Mt. SAC.
The semifinals will play in the Southern California Championship on Nov. 29 and the state championship game is on Saturday Dec. 13 with the Southern California participant serving as host.
