Pirate wide received Chris Marshall has been recognized by the Southern California Football Association for his record-breaking performance Saturday at Cerritos. He broke a 38 year old VC record with 15 pass receptions in the Pirates' 35-31 upset win at Cerritos and has been named the SCFA Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Marshall's 15 receptions, which bested the old school mark of 12, set three times, in 1976 (Bob Kimball), 2005 (Charles Dillon) and 2011 (Tim Vizzi), resulted in 161 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score with 13 seconds remaining.
Marshall is a 5-foot-9, 183 pound sophomore from Del Sol High School in Las Vegas.
