Ventura College defensive back Mike Cirino has been named the Southern California Football Association Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in VC's 33-30 win at El Camino Saturday. The sophomore had eight tackles, forced a fumble, came up with an interception, and ran back a blocked field goal 70 yards for a touchdown, giving VC a 27-14 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Cirino is a sophomore from Kissimmee, Fla. He prepped at Poinciana High School.
