Davis, Montno, Espitia Named 3C2A All-Americans

Women's water polo sophomore Ahna Davis and freshman Ella Montano were named first team 3C2A All-Americans at the conclusion of the 2023 season while freshman Kelsee Espitia earned a second team All-American nod. Freshman AnnMarie Patterson joined the trio on the Southern California All-Regional team.

Davis, a Porterville High School alumna, was the Pirates' primary goalie for the past two seasons. She started 29 games and played in 82 quarters in 2023. She totaled 219 saves on the season with a .600 save percentage. She also scored seven goals, grabbed 82 steals, and was credited with 13 wins while in goal. Davis was also a first team All-WSC honoree as a freshman and as a sophomore.

Montano, a Ventura High School product, was second on the team with 56 goals and 47 assists. She totaled 56 steals on defense as a key two-way player for the Pirates. Montano also recorded 29 drawn exclusions.

Espitia, meanwhile, was the Pirates' leading scorer in 2023, totaling 58 goals and handing out a team-best 50 assists. The Ventura High School graduate also grabbed 44 steals defensively and drew 17 exclusions.

Davis and Montano were also named first team Southern California All-Region while Espitia and Patterson earned second team All-Region recognition.

The Pirates ended the 2023 campaign with a final record of 21-11, the fifth season since 1998, and the second in three years, with 20+ wins. VC was also the WSC runner-up for the third straight year under head coach Linda Wright.
