Women's Polo Lands Four on First-Team All-WSC

The Ventura College women's water polo has had four team members named first-team All-Western State Conference as voted by the conference coaches last month. VC sophomore Lauren Mora and freshmen Fiona Watkins, Megan Findlay and Anna Lowe all earned the first-team nod for the 2021 season, a year in which the Pirates (20-7, 5-2), finished a strong second in the WSC race and posted 20 wins for just the fourth time in program history.

Mora, a Pacifica High School product, was the team leader as its lone returner from the pre-covid 2019 season. The utility player led the Pirates in goals scored with 85 and was also second in assists (43), third in steals (44) and fourth in ejections drawn (19).

Attacker Watkins was a leader for the Pirates defensively. The Westlake High School grad led the team with 88 steals in 26 games while scoring 64 goals (3rd) with 43 assists (2nd). She also had 20 drawn ejections, which tied for second on the team.

Findlay was another standout attacker for VC after her career at Ventura High School.  Her 72 goals placed her second on the team and her 49 assists led the Pirates.  She also led Ventura with 34 ejections drawn in 27 games.

Lowe was the fourth member of the Pirates to earn first-team All-WSC honors. The Rio Mesa High School alumna and VC center scored 51 goals with 42 assists on the season.

VC freshmen Katie Falls and Kiran Shah were named second-team All-WSC and Sierra Cameron and Isabel Tenison earned Honorable Mention recognition.
