Women's Polo Runs Away From Brahmas

In a game in which all 13 field players scored for the Pirates' women's water polo team, VC ran away from visiting LA Pierce 19-5 Friday afternoon at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Megan Findlay had three goals in leading the rout over the Brahmas, and Emmie Johnston, Lauren PierceBryanna Soto and Natalia Rodriguez each scored twice. Katie Falls had nine saves in goal for Ventura (14-3, 3-1).

Findlay, Anna Lowe and Fiona Watkins all scored in the first two minutes of the game, followed by goals from Pierce, Rodriguez and Stephany Dijar and Ventura led 6-0 with 2:41 remaining in the first quarter. 

The lead expanded to 9-1 by halftime and the Pirates led 14-3 at the end of three periods.

Findlay added five assists to her scoring total and Lowe dished out three helpers. Rodriguez had two assists and two drawn ejections while Isabel Tenison had a goal, an assist and two steals. Kiran Shah, Sierra CameronAnalee Magaña and Stefanie Covarrubias also found the inside of the cage in the victory. 

The Pirates next travel "up the hill" on Saturday Oct. 16 to take on NCAA Div. III Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks.
