Caitlin Gusa enters her first season on the Ventura College coaching staff. She has been involved in volleyball for thirteen years as a player and a coach. Before coming to VC, Coach Caitlin served as an assistant coach with the 18-1's West for the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy (LAVA) under coach Brad Lyans and Trevor Julian for one year.
Caitlin began playing volleyball competitively in elementary school and with the Skagit Volleyball Club and Sabotage Volleyball Club (Washington). She attended Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, WA where she played volleyball all four years and ran track for three. Her Junior year she received Honorable Mention in the Northwest Conference and !st Team All Conference her Senior year. After high school Gusa continued on to play collegiately at California Lutheran University.
Coach Caitlin started her coaching career after college, serving as the Assistant Freshman Coach and Varsity Assistant at Thousand Oaks High School in 2012. Following that season she started coaching for Los Angeles Volleyball Academy (LAVA). In the 2012/2013 season, Gusa served as an assistant for the 12-1's and 18-1's in the West.
Coach Caitlin earned her Bachelor's of Science in Accounting in 2012 from California Lutheran University. Continuing her education, she is currently working on her MEd in Athletic Coaching.
Caitlin currently works part time at an Accounting/Business Consulting Firm as a Bookkeeper. She resides in Thousand Oaks with her two cats, Lila and Annabelle.
