Ventura responded with a soft kill by Whitney, a winner off the touch by Carter, a Miranda DeBeary kill and an ace by Monica Montoya to retake the lead at 14-12. The set was tied at 21-21, and the Cougars scored the next two points and had a set-point at 24-22 before VC came back to knot things up again.
