After a long bus ride to Palm Desert, the VC volleyball team looked as if they were playing next door in their 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 sweep over College of the Desert Wednesday. Nevada Knowles had eight kills, 20 assists and five services aces while Darynne Bickers recorded seven winners at the net. Amaris Garcia had 14 digs defensively for VC (6-2), who is ranked No. 23 in the latest state poll.
Knowles produced a .538 hitting percentage at the net with one error in her 13 scoring chances. Bickers hit .400 on the night, also with one error in 15 chances.
Katey Mulville had five block assists defensively and Knowles added three.
Ventura returns home on Friday Sept. 17, hosting Canyons at 6:00 pm.
