The Pirate volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note at the Athletic Event Center. Ventura (13-9, 8-2) defeated visiting Santa Barbara 25-22, 25-18, 25-18 to finish in second place in the Western State Conference North Division. Morgan Gallagher had 14 kills and 10 digs while Brooklyn Wallet had 12 kills and a .524 hitting percentage. With the victory, the Pirates hope to access the playoffs for the fifth time in the past six seasons under head coach Brad Lyans.

Shantalle Ruiz and Raphaella Rosales each had four kills on the night. Kassidy Wilson and Gabby Boado each handed out 17 assists. Leslie Perez anchored the defense with 25 digs.

The Pirates have who won nine of the last 10 matches dating to Sept. 27 and are hoping for their third straight post-season bid.

The Pirates honored their seven sophomores before Friday's regular season finale against Santa Barbara.
