The VC volleyball team traveled to Woodland Hills Wednesday to take on LA Pierce, defeating the Brahmas in four sets, 25-19, 25-17, 20-25, 25-12. Brooklyn Wallet had 14 kills with a hitting percentage of .407, and Morgan Gallagher also recorded 14 winners with 13 digs and five service aces in the Pirate victory, their sixth in the past seven outings. Kassidy Wilson handed out 25 assists and Leslie Perez had 28 digs and a 2.43 passer rating to lead Ventura (9-8, 5-2).
Shantalle Ruiz had eight kills on the night while Vanessa Ihrke and Raphaella Rosales recorded six and five kills, respectively. Rosales also had 12 digs defensively and Wilson put up 11 digs. Gabby Boado handed out 20 assists while Tatum Teel had three blocks at the net.
Ventura returns home on Friday Nov. 8 against Cuesta College. The match is set to begin at 6:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center.
