Pirates Take Two at Pasadena Quad

The Pirate volleyball team won a pair of matches Friday at the Pasadena Quad hosted at Citrus College in Glendora. VC (4-5) swept Antelope Valley 25-23, 25-11, 25-15 before defeating Citrus on their home court, 25-18, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19. Kassidy Wilson facilitated the offense with 37 assists on the day and Morgan Gallagher totaled 21 kills in the two contests. Raphaella Rosales anchored the defense with 34 digs for Ventura.

Ventura 3, Antelope Valley 0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-15)
The Pirates got the day off to a promising start with a sweep of the Marauders. Gallagher had 10 kills, seven digs and three service aces  to lead the way and Brooklyn Wallet recorded eight winners and three blocks. Wilson and Gabby Boado each handed out 14 assists. Victoria Whitney had four kills and three blocks in the match while Rosales had 21 digs and three aces. Tatum Teel contributed four kills and Shantalle Ruiz had a pair of blocks.

Ventura 3, Citrus 1 (25-18, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19)
VC completed the sweep with a 3-1 victory over the host Owls. Gallagher was exemplary again with 11 kills, six digs, three aces and two blocks. Whitney recorded six kills and Teel had five winners with four blocks. Wallet also produced five kills in the match. Ruiz had five kills and two blocks while Wilson dished out 23 assists and had seven digs. Rosales had 13 digs defensively.

The Pirates will next travel to Bakersfield on Wednesday Sept 18.
