The Pirate volleyball team traveled to Santa Barbara Wednesday, coming home with a straight set defeat at the hands of the Vaqueros, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19. Braxton Jessie had seven kills and 11 digs for Ventura (11-11, 2-4) and Danielle Garcia handed out 13 assists with 12 digs.
Janessa Simental and Bryanna Lovingood each recorded five kills in the match for VC and Madeline Bolish had four winners. Caryssa Castrejon added three kills with 13 digs while Jordan Neria had 11 digs. Daisy Martinez had 10 helpers.
The Pirates travel to Moorpark on Wednesday Nov. 8 before hosting Allan Hancock on Friday Nov. 10 in the regular season finale.
