Spikers Back on Track at Allan Hancock

The VC volleyball team got back on track Wednesday evening, posting a three-set sweep of host Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, 25-8, 25-10, 25-10. Braxton Jessie had six kills and 24 digs while Bryanna Lovingood recorded a team-high seven kills, leading the balanced attack. Janessa Simental and Carina Cates also recorded six kills while Caryssa Castrejon had five kills for the Pirates (10-10, 1-3).

Danielle Garcia had 23 assists in the match for VC.  The Pirates won in runaway fashion despite missing leading hitter Taylor Benitez-Fanslow who was out with an injury.

Ventura returns home on Friday Oct. 27 to begin the second round of Western State Conference North Division play.  They host Cuesta at the Athletic Event Center with the first serve slated for 6:00 pm.
