In the second set, Ventura never got on track offensively or defensively dropping it 25-13. They rebounded quickly with the match tied 1-1, however, collecting a tight 25-23 win in the third set. The Pirates closed out the match with a 25-21 victory in set four.
Hiott added eight digs and a block to her effort. Cassandra Lacanilao picked up 17 digs to pace the Pirates passing attack with Salgado finishing with nine digs. VC had seven service aces in the match.
The Pirates return home on Wednesday Nov. 4 when they will host No. 1-ranked Los Angeles Pierce College for a 7:00 pm contest.
