Ventura's hangover from their first state ranking in seven years continued Friday as the No. 25-ranked Pirates were swept by No. 8 Santa Barbara 25-11, 25-14, 25-20 at the Athletic Event Center.
Mehgan Lambert led Ventura (8-7, 2-3) with seven kills while Tori Hiott recorded six kills. Cassandra Lacanilao had 11 digs in the match.
The Pirates have a week before their next match, a home date with Los Angeles Mission College. that match will be at the Athletic Event Center on Friday Oct. 24 at 7:00 pm.
