VOLLEYBALL: The Ventura College volleyball team dropped a 3-set match to cross-county rival Moorpark College Friday night at the Athletic Event Center, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17. Makeda Pelle had seven kills in the match for VC (1-14, 0-5) and Sydney Morris had 13 digs. Gemma Stoll scored five blocks and Dana Cleavenger dished out 24 assists in the match.
The Pirates will travel to Santa Barbara on Wednesday Oct. 23 to close out the first round of Western State Conference play with a 6:00 pm match. The play at West Los Angeles College in a non-conference match on Friday Oct. 25, also at 6:00 pm.
