The VC women's tennis team closed the regular season Tuesday with an 8-1 defeat at Glendale. Bella Moga and Beryllyn Paz captured the lone point for the Pirates (7-11, 5-9) in doubles play.

Ventura came into the match down a pair of players, therefore gave up one doubles match and two singles matches to the Vaqueros before the first serve of the day. In doubles, Moga and Paz blanked their opposition in the No. 2 slot, 8-0 and VC trailed 2-1 heading to singles.

Nicole Iannacone played up to the No. 1 singles slot, dropping her decision, and Moga also played up a spot, falling at No. 2. Bella DeRosa played ahead a spot to No. 3 and Paz, playing up two levels, dropped a three-set decision in No. 4 singles.

The Pirate will now await a possible playoff bid in team play, and will play in the Western State Conference Singles and Doubles Championships at the VC Tennis Center beginning on Tuesday April 2.
