Ventura's doubled team of Alyssa McClain and Elizabeth Nguyen advanced to the semifinals of the Western State Conference Women's Doubles Tournament on Saturday. The pair will continue play on Friday April 8 at 1:00 pm in their attempt to move into the conference championship.
McClain and Nguyen, who won two matches on Thursday to move into the quarterfinal round, defeated the No. 12-seeded duo from Antelope Valley to move into the conference semifinals. They will take on the No. 1-seed from Santa Monica on Friday April 8 at 1:00 pm.
In another quarterfinal, Hanna Dever and Victoria Zegers fell to the No. 2-seed from LA Mission College 8-1.
In singles play, Dever had her tournament come to an end Saturday as she dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to the draw's top seed from Santa Monica. Her season will continue at the Southern California Regionals on April 29.
