VC Falls in Final Match of Women's Tennis Team Season

The VC women's tennis team fell in its final team match of the 2022 season 9-0 at Orange Coast Friday in Costa Mesa. The shorthanded Ventura team, which did not field No. 3 doubles or No. 6 singles competitors, still gave a strong effort despite the final result.

Orange Coast came out strong in doubles, taking the two remaining matches for a 3-0 lead.

VC's singles players gave a good effort despite the final results. Ava Gallo dropped a 6-3, 7-6 decision in the No. 5 slot while Hanna Dever won two and three games, respectively in her setback at No. 1. Elizabeth Nguyen and Tanya Thompson each fell 6-3, 6-1 in Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively, while Victoria Zegers dropped her No. 2 match 6-1, 6-1.

Ventura next will host the Western State Conference Singles and Doubles Tournament beginning Thursday March 31.
