Women's Tennis Defeats Victor Valley

The Ventura College women's tennis team welcomed the Victor Valley to the beach Tuesday afternoon, sending the Rams back to the desert with a 7-2 defeat in Western State Conference action at the VC Tennis Center. Keressa Garland and Denissa Garcia each posted 6-1, 6-0 victories in their Nos. 3 and 4 singles matches, respectively. Then the duo teamed up for an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles to pace the Pirates (4-10, 4-6).

Aliyah Amaya had a 3-set win at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 1-6, 10-4 while Cali Iadevaia won in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Victoria Neumann had a narrow 3-set loss in No. 1 singles, 5-7, 6-7, 10-7. Neumann and Amaya also dropped their No. 1 doubles match, 8-3.

Ventura next hosts Santa Monica College on Thursday March 21. Play is set to begin at 2:00 pm at the VC Tennis Center.
