Women's Tennis Falls to Canyons

The VC women's tennis team dropped a home Western State Conference match to visiting College of the Canyons 7-2 Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Keressa Garland and Cali Iadevaia each recorded victories in singles play for the Pirate scores.

Iadevaia registered the Pirates first point of the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 6 singles. Garland followed at No. 4 singles with her 6-0, 7-6 triumph. Tanya Thompson was the next best finisher in singles play for Ventura (0-3, 0-2) falling 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 slot.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Victoria Neumann and Thompson, and the No. 2 duo of Garland and Aliyah Amaya both fell by identical 8-5 scores.

Ventura will next host Bakersfield on Thursday Feb. 14 at the VC Tennis Center, weather permitting.
