The VC women's tennis team claimed their first victory of the young season with a 6-3 triumph over visiting Cypress College Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. The Pirates (1-2, 0-2) won three of four singles matches, including a love and love win by Alyssa Powell at No. 2, a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 by Allie De Marco, and a love and one decision at No. 4 by Tricia McClain.
The Pirates will next host College of the Canyons on Tuesday Feb. 13 at the VC Tennis Center beginning at 2:00 pm.
