Sindle Makes Sweet 16 Before Bowing Out At The Ojai

Ventura College sophomore Bailey Sindle made it into the Sweet 16 of the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Friday before bowing out of the tournament.

Pirate sophomore Bailey Sindle closed her career in the orange and black by qualifying for the Sweet 16 of the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament Friday before bowing out. Her run featured a pair of upset victories before falling to the draw's No. 3 seed.  Meanwhile, Sindle and doubles partner Lea Meschke made it to the Round of 32 before falling Friday.

Sindle, an upset winner in the Round of 64 on Thursday, defeated the No. 11 seeded player from American River 6-2, 7-5 on Friday in her first match before facing the No. 3 seed from Cañada College.  Sindle lost that match in the Round of 16, 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles play, Sindle and Meschke had a pair of victories in The Ojai Thursday before falling Friday to the No. 6-seeded duo from Fullerton, 6-3, 7-6.

With the losses Thursday, the Pirate women see their 2017 season come to a close.
