The Ventura College women's tennis team were defeated by Cerritos 6-3 Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Luciana Muheison and Allie De Marco provided all of the points of the Pirates (4-7, 2-5*) with wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, and together in No. 3 doubles.
Muheison took three sets to defeat her opponent in No. 5 singles, taking the first set before falling in the second, 1-6. She prevailed in the tiebreaker 10-4 to take the match. De Marco, meanwhile, blanker her opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 3 doubles, the pair won 8-4.
Alyssa Powell was the next Pirate closest to a win, falling 6-4, 6-4 in No. 4 singles.
VC will return to the courts on Thursday March 16, traveling to Victor Valley before hosting Cal Lutheran on Friday March 17.
