Pirates Women's Tennis Win Final WSC Match

Playing host to Bakersfield College to wrap up their Western State Conference play the Ventura College women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 win. Mariko Sagara, Jessica Powell, Jia Wiebe and Theresa Doal were winners on the singles and doubles side of play. Wiebe allowed just two points in singles play.

Ventura (8-8, 6-4) was able to dominate the doubles side of play sweeping all three doubles contests. As well, the Pirates won four of the six total singles contests and won each match in straight sets. Sagara and Powell were teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a win and then Sagara won at No. 1 singles allowing just four points and then Powell won at No. 2 singles allowing just two points. Doal was a winner at No. 6 singles allowing just two points in her match. 

Ventura now wraps up their regular season slate and will prepare for the WSC playoffs. On Friday Apr. 1 the Pirates will start the WSC singles and doubles tournament. Start time is to be determined.
