Women's Tennis Wins in Convincing Fashion

The Ventura College women's tennis team hosted Santa Monica College and were winners 8-1. Ventura claimed all three sets of doubles play and won five of the six matches on the singles side. Jia Wiebe and Megan Fleming picked up wins on the singles side of play. Fleming won her singles match without dropping a point. 

Ventura (7-8, 5-4) won all but two sets on the singles side of play and dropped just three points on the doubles side of play for a impressive win. Mariko Sagara continued her sterling season as a winner at No. 1 doubles and a winner at No. 1 singles in straight sets without losing a point. Audrey Karbum was able to pick up the win at No. 5 singles and dropped just one point in her victory. Theresa Doal was a winner at No. 2 doubles and was a winner at No. 6 singles by forfeit.

Ventura wraps up their regular season schedule with a home contest on Tuesday Mar. 22 with a 2:00 pm contest against Bakersfield College their final match in Western State Conference play.
