Women's Tennis Unable to Overcome Glendale

The Ventura College women's tennis team traveled to Glendale to take on Glendale College and fell 8-1. Mariko Sagara continued her stellar season at No. 1 singles picking up a dominant straight sets win. The Pirates doubles teams played two close matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but fell to GC.

Ventura (6-8, 4-4) looked to stay over .500 in Western State Conference play facing off against a stellar Glendale team and started the day with 9-8 and 8-6 losses in doubles play. The Pirates got on the board when Sagara won her No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-0. VC was unable to pick up another win in singles play and dropped the match. 

The Pirates will be at home for their final two matches of WSC play when they play host to Santa Monica on Thursday Mar. 17 at 2:00 pm and then again on Tuesday Mar. 22 when they will host Bakersfield. After those two matches Ventura will enter the playoff portion of their season.
