Ventura College's women's tennis team went on the road to match up with Glendale College for a WSC match. Ventura fell 7-2, but were able to win both the No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles match ups, but unable to win at the other spots. Mariko Sagara claimed wins at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

VC (2-5, 1-2) faced a tough task against a perennial women's tennis power. They started the day off well as Sagara and Jessica Powell teamed up for a 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. The next two Pirates teams fell in doubles play putting VC down 2-1 heading into singles play. Sagara won in straight sets at No. 1 singles to tie the match at 2-2. Glendale though claimed the next five contests in singles play with VC able to win just one set.

Ventura travels to Santa Monica on Thursday Feb 25 for a WSC contest set to begin at 1:00 pm. Then on Friday Feb. 26 they go on the road again for a non-conference contest against Saddleback at 2:00 pm.
