Yannick Garcia Signs With Middle Georgia State College

Pirate sophomore Yannick Garcia has signed a scholarship with NAIA Middle Georgia State College for 2016.

Sophomore women's tennis player Yannick Garcia has signed a scholarship to continue her academic and athletic careers at Middle Georgia State College, an NAIA school in Cochran, Ga.  Garcia, who came to VC from Seraozinho, SP, Brasil was 14-4 this past year in singles, advancing to the Western State Conference semifinals.  She was a WSC singles finalist as a freshman.

Garcia played in the No. 1 singles slot as a freshman when she earned a runner-up finish in the WSC tournament.  She also played No. 1 doubles with Jessica Moore, advancing to the WSC semifinals. She posted a 1-1 record at The Ojai in 2014in singles, and moved to the round of 32 in doubles.

Last season, garcia primarily played No. 2 singles, advancing to the WSC semifinals in both singles and doubles (with teammate Bailey Sindle).  She once again was 1-1 at The Ojai while she and Sindle advanced to the round of 32 in doubles.
