Garcia & Sindle Put Up Fight Against Top Seed at State

Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle put up a great fight Friday against the top seed in the women's doubles draw at the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament.  Katy Scheck and Jia Wiebe also met the end of their season in the round of 32 Friday afternoon, closing the books on the Pirates' 2015 women's tennis season.

Garcia and Sindle, VC's top doubles team, pushed the state's No. 1 seed from Modesto College.  VC took the first set 6-3, before falling in the second by the same score.  Garcia and Sindle ultimately fell in the third set tiebreak, 10-8, ending their season.

Scheck and Weibe also fell in thir frist match on Friday in the state round of 32.  The lost to the No. 3 seed from Desert, 6-1, 6-0.

The losses end the season for the Pirates, who finished 8-7 in dual matches on the year.
