The run for the Ventura College women's tennis team's top doubles duo of Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle came to an end Friday as the pair fell in the Western State Conference semifinals at the VC Tennis Center. No. 3-seed Garcia and Sindle lost 6-4, 6-2 to the No. 2 team from Glendale College.
The season is not over for the pair, however, as they have qualified for the CCCAA State Championships to be held in conjunction with The Ojai Tournament beginning April 23. State qualifiers from VC in women's singles include both Garcia, Sindle while the doubles teams of Garcia and Sindle, and Jia Wiebe and Katy Scheck will be playing in the tournament.
