Four Pirates qualified for the CCCAA State Championships to be held at the Ojai Tournament later this month in competition Saturday at the Western State Conference Singles and Doubles Championships Saturday at the VC Tennis Center. The doubles team of Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle have advanced to the conference semifinals in doubles to be held on Friday April 11.
In singles, No. 3 seed Garcia and No. 10 seed Sindle both advanced to the conference semifinals with a win Saturday morning before falling to the top two seeds in the draw, respectively in the afternoon. Both have qualified for the Ojai later this month.
Meanwhile, Garcia and Sindle teamed up to win their doubles quarterfinal on Saturday, advancing to the WSC semifinals. They have also qualified for the state championships along with Jia Wiebe and Katy Scheck, who won their doubles match in the back draw on Saturday.
Sindle and Garcia will complete their run through the doubles draw on Friday April 10 at the VC Tennis Center. Meanwhile, the four players will also begin play in the state championships at the Ojai on April 22.
