Traveling to the high desert of Lancaster, the Pirates' women's tennis team came home with a solid 8-1 decision over Antelope Valley College Tuesday afternoon. Yannick Garcia, Jia Wiebe, Candace Nito and Chelsea Peterson all swept their singles matches love and love against the Marauders. Bailey Sindle also earned a point with a singles win.
VC also swept the doubles competition, with Garcia and Sindle, Wiebe and Katy Scheck, and Nito and Cristina Ortiz all posting victories for VC (6-5, 3-3).
The Pirates host Santa Barbara in a big Western State Conference match on Thursday March 12 at 2:00 pm at the VC Tennis Center.
