WOMEN'S TENNIS: Traveling up the coast to Santa Barbara, the Pirates' women's tennis team came home with a 7-2 victory over the host Vaqueros Thursday afternoon. Karissa Coronel helped lead the effort with a two and one victory in No. 4 singles and an 8-0 shutout in No. 3 doubles with Georgia Farrar. Farrar was a winner in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1 as well. Jessica Moore won in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2 and teamed up with Yannick Garcia for a win in No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Brianna Rutan was a double-winner in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and in No. 2 doubles with Dania Huacuja, 9-7.
The Pirates finish the regular season Western State Conference schedule next week with matches at Glendale on Tuesday March 18 and at home against Santa Monica on Thursday March 20. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
